PURPOSE:To allow the simple execution of a jam treatment by providing a detecting means which detects the release of an upper cover of a device body and outputs a release detection signal and a control means which outputs a movement signal to a cassette moving means in accordance with the release detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The upper cover 12 which is held energized by a spring is released by the energizing force when the detaining of the upper cover 12 is released in the case of the jam treatment or the like. The release of the upper cover 12 is detected by a microswitch MS 6 which outputs the release signal to a control section. The cassette moving means which receives the cassette movement signal from the control section moves the cassette 16 from a 1st position to a 2nd position. then, only the parts necessary for the jam treatment retreat and the pressure contact of a fixing roller 30 is released and, therefore, the jammed paper is easily checked and removed. An operator is able to easily make the jam treatment without requiring large force without hesitation. |
