PURPOSE:To hold a photosensitive body at a specific potential to overall length and obtain constant recording picture quality by forming the control grid of an electrostatic charger so that the roughness shape of the center part is different from those of both end parts. CONSTITUTION:The charger 10 consists of a wire 11, holding mechanisms 13a and 13b, discharge plate 14, and the control grid 12 for the amount of charge. The wire 11 is tensed by a spring 15 between the mechanisms 13a and 13b to constant tension. The grid 12 is made of a net or lattice of fine wires, and make dense at the center of the charger and coarse at both end parts so that the roughness shape of the center part of the charger is different from those of the other end parts. The charger 10 is nearly as long as the whole photosensitive body, but charges the photosensitive body constantly and uniformly to its overall length, obtaining the uniform picture quality. |
