PURPOSE:To facilitate the exchange of consumables, the maintenance and exchange of materials and jam treatment by automatically moving a process cartridge from a 1st position to a 2nd position when the consumption of a developer is detected and allowing the replenishing of the developer to a developer replenishing section or the exchange of a container for replenishing the developer in the 2nd position. CONSTITUTION:A signal to supply electric power for forward rotation is outputted to a motor M1 when a toner replenishment signal to a replenishing hopper is outputted. Consequently, the process cartridge 30 is moved from the 1st position in the device where the image formation is possible to the 2nd position where the exchange of the container for replenishing the developer, i.e. process cartridge is possible. The replenishment of toners to respective toner replenishing hoppers 308 to 310 and 311 is automatically executed by the operations to respectively exchange the respective toner process cartridges 380C to 310C and 311C packed with various kinds of color of toner. The exchange and inspection of the process materials, the replenishment of the developer and further, the easy and rapid treatment of troubles, such as jam of transfer materials are executed in this way. |
