PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance and wear resistance and to obtain a wire for thermal spraying capable of forming a thermally sprayed layer suitable for a brake rotor by constituting a wire for arc spraying for a brake rotor of a hollow wire made of copper and a granular Fe-Cr-C alloy powder filled into the hollow part of the above hollow wire. CONSTITUTION:A wire 1A for thermal spraying is formed by wiredrawing, as a material 1 for forming the wire 1A, a material constituted of a hollow wire 10 made of copper (Cu) and a granular Fe-60Cr-7C alloy powder 11 filled into the hollow part 100 of the hollow wire 10. Further, the blending ratio between the copper and the Fe-60Cr-7C in a thermally sprayed layer 3 after thermal spraying is regulated to the ratio of the order of 7:3 in this wire 1A for thermal spraying, and, as the above alloy powder 11, a powder formed into spherical grains of <= about 100mum average grain size is used. |
