PURPOSE:To obtain the carrier to be used for a two-component developer which is excellent in stability with lapse of time and environmental stability and can maintain good image quality by subjecting the carrier consisting of resin- coated ferrite to surface coating with a solid lubricant having a low coefft. of friction. CONSTITUTION:The core material consisting of the ferrite particles is coated with the resin and is then subjected to the surface coating with the solid lubricant having <=0.3 coefft. of friction, by which the carrier is formed. The contamination resistance of the carrier is improved in this way. The two-component developer which exhibits good electrostatic chargeability and the excellent stability of the image quality with lapse of time and environmental stability is obtd. when this carrier is used as the two-component developer. High-quality images which are free from the staining of the background and the roughening of the images are obtd. A stable maintaining characteristic to reduce carrier consumption is obtd. when this carrier is used over a long period of time. |
