PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily form a trialkyl thiophosphite monomolecular film having small pin holes and excellent electrical insulation by causing trialkyl thiophosphite monomoleculars of 15 or more carbon atoms dissolved in an organic solvent to be adsorbed onto a silver surface. CONSTITUTION:A substrate on which silver is deposited is used. In this substrate, a film of silver having a thickness of 2000Angstrom is deposited on the surface of a clean slide glass plate. First (C18H37S)3P is used as trialkyl thiophosphite of fourteen or more carbon atoms. After the substrate is dipped in an n-hexane solvent of 1mmol/l of (C18H37S)3P and pulled out, it is sufficiently washed by n-hexane and dried. In this way, a trialkyl thiophosphite monomolecular film is formed on a substrate.
