PURPOSE:To made variation of characteristic small and stabilize performance by increasing the number of plates having specified plate thickness and selecting plates having plate thickness near to specified plate thickness as a basis to make a choice among different plate thickness. CONSTITUTION:An assembly device 20 is comprised of a control part 21, plate supply devices 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d, 22e that supply plates having standard plate thickness one by one, and a colume measuring apparatus 23. When plates having standard plate thickness are judged assembled exceeding specified volume in a fluid chamber 4 with these means, remaining volume of the fluid chamber 4 is measured by the volume measuring apparatus 23, the number of plates having plate thickness that become a basis is increased from the measured value, and plates having plate thickness more near to it are selected and distributed. Then, a command signal is sent from the control part 21 to the plate supply devices 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d, 22e of respective plate thickness, and plates having necessary plate thickness are supplied to the extent of the necessary number of sheets. Since the number of sheets of plates having different plate thickness can be reduced with these means, viscous coupling having small variation of performance can be manufactured.
