PURPOSE:To obtain a color camera possible for simple image pickup operability by constituting a signal processing section of a color camera device with a digital circuit to attain high reliability, low cost, no adjustment, subminiaturization and light weight of the color camera device. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup device 1 receiving an optical signal 8 outputs picture element signals 9, 10 consisting of repetition of different chrominance signals at each horizontal period. The picture element signals 9, 10 are converted into digital picture element signals 12 via an A/D converter 2, the signal is fed to a digital signal detector 4, from which a digital video signal 27 and a digital color difference signal 29 are obtained. The digital color difference signal 29 is fed to a digital chrominance signal processor 3, from which independent digital color signals 14, 15 are obtained. The digital color difference signals become digital color signals 14a, 15a added with white balance correcting term via a digital white balance device 40 and become the standard color television signal 16 by the standard color television signal synthesizer 5. |
