<p>PURPOSE:To secure a smooth operation response and to suppress oil leakage from a seal outward by providing an oil return hole in a cylinder head for returning the control oil, which has been collected in an oil collecting chamber, to a supply side, and by providing an atmosphere communicating hole for connecting the oil collecting chamber with atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A seal 28 is provided among a timing pulley ASSY 6, a cylinder head 3 and a bearing cap 5 for sealing the control oil leaked out from the inside of the timing pulley ASSY 6. An oil collecting chamber 29 is provided among a camshaft 1, the cylinder head 3, the bearing cap 5 and the seal 28 for collecting the control oil leaked out from the inside of the timing pulley ASSY 6. An oil return hole 31 is formed for making the control oil in the oil collecting chamber 29 return to an oil pan 10. An atmosphere communicating hole 32 is provided for connecting the oil collecting chamber 29 with atmosphere in addition to the oil return hole 31. Thus, it is possible to secure a smooth operation response and to suppress oil leakage from the seal even in the case of excessive control oil pressure.</p> |
