PURPOSE:To prepare a lightweight bumper beam having high rigidity and excel lent corrosion resistance and to enhance the productivity thereof by using a pellet-shape thermoplastic resin composition having a specific fiber reinforced structure and molding the same. CONSTITUTION:A pellet-shape thermoplastic resin composition with 3-100mm length containing 20-80wt.% of a fibrous filler having the substantially same length as a pellet and arranged in almost parallel to the length direction of the pellet is used. As the thermoplastic resin composition to be used, there is no special limit but one based on polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate or polyamide is pref. from the aspect of wt. reduction, cost reduction, processability, strength or corrosion resistance. As the fibrous filler to be compounded, a glass fiber capable of being easily obtained and especially advan tageous from the aspect of cost is pref. In the bumper beam thus obtained, it is pref. that the fibrous filler is dispersed in wt. mean fiber length of 1-30mm. |
