PURPOSE:To prepare a sheet wherein staple fibers are oriented in the thickness direction thereof with stable quality by passing the flow of an elastomer uniformly flowing in a lateral direction through a thin gap in a vertical direction and spreading the same in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A rubber flow path 6 formed by an upper member 2, a lower member 3 and left and right side members 4, 5 and having the almost rectangular cross-section formed by said members has an expanded inclined part 6a gradually expanded in its cross section in the lateral direction thereof and the opening part continuing to the expanded inclined part 6a on the downstream side thereof and having the max. cross section. A known rubber flow control part 7 protruding upwardly and uniformly expanding the flow of rubber in left and right directions is arranged to the lower member 3 at the region corresponding to the expanded inclined part 6a of the rubber flow path 6. When a thin rubber material wherein staple fibers are oriented in the flow direction of rubber passes through a weir part 9, the cross section of the rubber flow path 6 is expanded and the length thereof in a vertical direction increases. Therefore, the flow of rubber changes in the vertical direction and the staple fibers mixed with the rubber are also oriented in the vertical direction by the flow change of the rubber. |
