NEW MATERIAL:A peptide (salt) of the formula. USE:A hypotensive agent or angiotensin transferase inhibitor. PREPARATION:For example, whey protein is dispersed and dissolved in 0.03M hydrochloric acid, mixed with distilled water, adjusted to a pH of 2.0 with 1N hydrochloric acid, reacted with pepsin at 13 deg.C for 15hr, adjusted to a pH of 4.4 with 5N sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, reacted with an Aspergillus- originated aspartic protease at 45 deg.C for 5hr, adjusted to a pH of 6.0 with 5N sodium hydroxide aqueous solution and subsequently heated at 90 deg.C for 20hr to inactivate the enzyme. The treated solution is cooled to room temperature and centrifuged to recover the supernatant. The supernatant is lyophilized to obtain a peptide mixture, which is purified by ion exchange chromatography and subsequently by high performance liquid chromatography to provide the peptide of the formula. |
