PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition providing cured materials having extremely high toughness, high modulus of elasticity, low water absorption, high heat resistance, high solvent resistance, etc., and high stability of these properties by blending an epoxy resin with a specific polyimide. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) an epoxy resin and (B) a polyimide composed of a component essentially having structure shown by the formula and containing an amino end group. A combination of a glycidyl type epoxy resin such as triglycidyl-p-aminophenol and a glycidyl ether type epoxy resin such as bisphenol A type epoxy resin is preferable as the component A. An amine terminated polyimide oligomer prepared by copolymerizing 2,2- bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl] propane with 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy) phenyl]hexafluoropropane and biphenyltetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is used as the component B. |
