The actuator assembly comprises a vertical structure coupled between the body of the discharge mechanism and a manual actuator incorporated on the lid of the cistern. The vertical structure has a mechanism for multipyling the manual power exerted on the actuator in order to obtain the separation of the closure membrane from its seat on the bottom of the cistern and to allow discharge of the water contained therein. The assembly is particularly applicable to all types of cistern and water dischargers for lavatory cisterns which use overflows carrying closure membranes acting as valves for closing off the discharge of the liquid. <IMAGE>
