PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording material, from which a magenta image or a cyan image with improved thermal diffusion and coloring properties and the better ability to become chelated in addition to outstanding heat resistance, light fastness and fixing properties by providing a layer containing a specific color on a support. CONSTITUTION:This thermal transfer recording material has a color expressed by formula (I) on a support. The thermal layer of the thermal transfer recording material is stacked over an image-receiving material, and heat suited to image information is applied to the material. After that, an image is formed on an image-receiving material with the help of a chelate color produced by chemical reaction of metal ion with a color in the thermal layer. Thus a magenta image or a cyan image is obtained, using one kind of color, which has improved thermal diffusion and coloring properties and the better ability to become chelated in addition to outstanding thermal resistance, light fastness and fixing properties. |
