PURPOSE:To adequately control toner concn. with respect to a difference in toner adhesion by the degraded flowability of a developer by providing the toner images for detecting the toner adhesion on an image carrying member at plural points. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting and receiving sensor 7 obtains the data as the reflection intensity of the light from respective toner images H, I, J at the front end of images and E, F, G at the rear end and sends the data to an arithmetic circuit 8. The toner concn. is so computed as to minimize the fluctuations of the intensity of the reflected light from the respective toner images or such computation as to compare the data on the toner images at the front end and rear end of the images and to give priority to the toner image of the lower concn. to prevent the degradation in the concn. is executed. The results of the computation is are sent to a toner replenishing mechanism 9 which replenishes the toner at need. |
