The method is used in the art and souvenir industry for the bulk and piece production of replicas of engraved articles. Through it the output and the mass production are increased, and smooth openwork articles with uniform wall thickness are obtained without the use of harmful to the health chemicals. The method is based on the preparation of a compound model, which is a negative replica of a given sample. In the compound model a billet is inserted with a shape close to the shape of the inner recess of the model, into which water is poured and is chilled through a cooling mixture. The billet is placed in a brass mould and the latter in a steel latter in a steel reinforcing jacket with a screw upper lid. After this the billet is placed in a brass mould, being supported by the lower lid, which is also on a screw. The whole device is immersed in a cooling mixture, remains there for 15 to 40 min and is then extracted.
