摘要 PURPOSE:To form an antireflection film having its sufficient antireflection effect being formed on the outer surface of display portion base-body of a display device of the condensation product of a specific silane-compound or a specific porous thin-film. CONSTITUTION:In a display device, e.g. a cathode-ray tube having an antireflection film 19 formed on the outer surface of its display portion base-body, the film 19 is made up of a porous thin-film formed by using as a binding agent the condensation product of a silane compound having its fluoroalkyl radical or the co-condensation product consisting of the silane compound and silicon or a metal oxide group compound, and binding the fine grain of magnesium fluoride together with the binding agent. When the antireflection film of the display device has been formed in the aforementioned manner, the binding agent made of the condensation product of a silane compound having its fluoroalkyl radical, or made of the co-condensation product consisting of the silane compound and silicon or the metal oxide group compound has about the same refractive index as MgF2, and consequently the amount of the binding agent added to the MgF2 can be adjusted to adjust the porosity of the thin film so as to form the antireflection film having its sufficient antireflection effect.
