PURPOSE:To shorten a feed distance and to make it possible to inspect not only the front and back surfaces but also the outer peripheral surface of a substance to be inspected such as a tablet, by combining 2-3 concentric step-like discs having different diameters and successively transferring the substance to be inspected such as the tablet at each stage while sucking the same by each disc. CONSTITUTION:A substance G to be inspected such as a tablet is supplied on the peripheral surfaces 11, 12... of the steps of a first disc 1 one at a time at a constant pitch to be sucked under vacuum. When the disc 1 is revolved to feed each substance G to be inspected and reached the position contacted with a second disc 2, the sucking of each tablet G by the first disc 1 is released to transfer said tablet G to the top surfaces 21, 22... of the steps of the second disc 2 under suction. When each tablet is sucked and fed by the first disc 1, the front surface of the tablet is inspected by a first TV camera 4 and a part of the outer peripheral surface thereof by a second TV camera 5 and, when the tablet G is sucked and fed by the second disc 2, the back surface and the residual outer peripheral surface of the tablet G sucked in an up-and-down reversed state are inspected by a third TV camera 6 and a fourth TV camera 7. |
