PURPOSE:To prevent the crosstalk for reproducing by irradiating a range, where the temperature of a magneto-optical recording medium rises by irradiation of a recording beam below the position irradiated with the recording beam, with a reproducing beam to reproduce information. CONSTITUTION:The range where the temperature of the magneto-optical recording medium rises by irradiation of the recording beam below the position irradiated with the recording beam is irradiated with the reproducing beam to reproduce information, and it is detected based on the amplitude of the reproduced signal whether the recording power of the recording beam is in the optimum range or not to control the recording beam. Consequently, the amplitude of the normal reproduced signal for recording with the optimum recording power is preliminarily stored, and the amplitude of the reproduced signal for the temperature rise due to recording is compared with this stored amplitude at the time of rerecording to detect whether the recording power is in the optimum range or not. Thus, information is always recorded with the optimum power, and the erase rate is raised, and the crosstalk is reduced. |
