NEW M-CSF AND PREPARATION THEREOF

NEW MATERIAL:A polypeptide of formula I (X is Phe, Ser; Y is an amino acid sequence of formula II; n is 0, 1) having a human CSF activity. USE:A drug such as a recovery-promoting agent for leukopenia caused by the irradiation with radioactive rays or an antitumor agent. The polypeptide has high purity and high quality and can be readily massively prepared. PREPARATION:A plasmid containing a DNA coding a polypeptide of formula I having a human CSF activity and capable of expressing a human CSF monomer protein is prepared, introduced into a host microorganism such as Escherichia coli to transform the host microorganism. The microorganism is cultured to prepare the human CSF monomer protein.
