PURPOSE:To achieve a stable and highly accurate detection of variations in the flux filling rate along the length of a flux-filled wire in a non-destructive manner, by measuring the thickness of skin metal. CONSTITUTION:Two resonance circuits containing a coil and a capacitor are arranged in series along the direction of running a flux-filled wire and a wire 3 is passed through coils 1 and 2. If so, impedances Z1 and Z2 are generated in the coils 1 and 2 corresponding to the parts A and B of a skin metal due to electromagnetic induction. The level of the impedances Z1 and Z2 is determined by the thickness of the skin metal. The non-equilibrium state of the impedances Z1 and Z2 can serve for judgement as data indicating variations in the flux filling rate at the parts A and B of the skin metal. Thus, variations in the flux ratio can be detected continuously in a non-contact state from outside the wire 3. |
