In the case of such a connection, the ends of the inner pipes (1, 2) which consist of steel are connected by means of a weld (3), while an external pipe (8), which is pushed over the outer pipes (6, 7) before welding is pushed over the ends of the outer pipes (6, 7), which consist of plastic, after the welding (3) has been carried out. The external pipe (8) has two edge parts (9, 10) having a resistance heating wire (12) which is embedded therein in order to produce electrical heating for the purpose of internal welding of the external pipe (8) to the outer pipes (6, 7). The intermediate pipe (11), which is located between the edge parts (9, 10), is flexible and is constructed with a wall thickness which is thinner, at least in places, than the edge parts (9, 10). In consequence, it is possible to push the external pipe (8) over the outer pipes (6, 7) without any difficulty even when the pipe connection is produced using bent, eccentric and displaced inner pipes (1, 2). The internal space which is formed by the external pipe (8) can be dried and subsequently filled with foam through an opening (20), so that a defect-free, gas-tight and moisture-tight pipe connection is obtained in a simple manner. In comparison with known pipe connections, the pipe connection with the electrical resistance heating can be produced quickly and without any difficulties, even in pipe trenches. <IMAGE>
