PURPOSE:To prevent a DC voltage, to prevent deterioration and to improve the reliability by providing a conductive layer on a signal electrode line via an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:A DC voltage developed between a video signal line 104 applied with a voltage and an opposite common transparent pixel electrode 453 is connected to a common transparent pixel electrode 453 which has a conductive layer 480 formed on an upper transparent glass electrode substrate 403 via silver paste 430 and is applied with a common electrode, so the video signal line 401 and common transparent pixel electrode 453 are held at the same potential, so that the voltage is canceled. The conductor layer is provided on an electric conductor applied with the voltages of the video signal line 401 and common transparent picture element electrode 453 and connected to the common transparent pixel electrode to nearly eliminate the potential difference; and then the DC voltage developed between them can be canceled, the deterioration is prevented, and the reliability is improved.
