PURPOSE:To obtain a composite thermal transfer sheet excellent in both of the non- releasability of an end part and the adhesiveness and releasability of the whole by bonding a thermal transfer sheet wherein a hot melt ink layer is formed to one surface of a base material film and a transfer material in a releasable manner by an adhesive layer and cutting both of them on the side of the thermal transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer sheet A, a hot melt ink layer 2 is formed on a base material film 1 and, pref., a mat layer 2 is formed between them or a slip layer 4 is formed to the rear of the base material film. The thermal transfer sheet A and a transfer material B are pref. bonded by a method wherein the transfer material is continuously bonded to the ink layer of the thermal transfer sheet while the adhesive layer is formed to the surface of said ink layer and the bonded one is taken up in a roll form and, at the time of cutting, by operating a cutter on the side of the thermal transfer sheet A, the end part of the adhesive layer C of the thermal transfer sheet A is pressed to the transfer material B and the adhesive layer C of the end part is strongly bonded to the transfer material B and, microcopically, the adhesive layer slightly penetrates in the cut surface of the transfer material B and, therefore, the adhesiveness of the end part is enhanced. |
