SHEET-FED TYPE COMPOSITE THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET

PURPOSE:To obtain a composite thermal transfer sheet excellent in curl preventing properties, adhesiveness and releasability, imparting a printed image having good resolving power and generating no background staining by forming a curl preventing layer to a transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A sheet-fed type composite thermal transfer sheet is constituted by bonding a thermal transfer sheet A and a transfer material B in a releasable manner by an adhesive layer C and a curl preventing layer D is formed to the surface of the transfer material B. The curl preventing layer D has function reducing the fluctuation of the moisture of paper being the transfer material regardless of the change of the circumferential humidity and, pref., the curl preventing layer is a water-retentive type or an airtight type. The curl preventing layer being the water-retentive type is formed from a hydrophilic resin solution such as polyethylene glycol and the curl preventing layer being the airtight type is formed from a hydrophobic resin layer of a polyester resin or an acrylic resin. This layer has thickness of about 0.5 - 5 mum to show sufficient effect.
