PURPOSE:To realize an absolute value computing circuit that has a small hardware quantity and the fast operating performance by constituting this circuit with a computing element, a '1' complement circuit, a priority encoder, and a bit inverting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The binary input signals Sin11 and Sin12 are calculated by a computing element 51, and the difference (Sin11 - Sin12) is transmitted through as it is via a complement circuit 52, a priority encoder 53, and a bit inverting circuit 54 as long as this difference is positive. Meanwhile the difference, if negative, is converted to a positive value by the conversion with two's complement, not by addition. Thus the absolute value of the difference (Sin11 - Sin12) is obtained to both signals Sin11 and Sin12. |
