<p>PURPOSE:To block all picture elements by providing the 2nd blocking means which rearranges blocks and constitutes blocks of (mXn) picture elements. CONSTITUTION:An input picture is divided into 176 horizontal, 480 vertical, remaining 4 horizontal, and remaining 480 vertical picture elements. The part constituted of the 4 horizontal and 480 vertical picture elements is first divided into blocks of 4 horizontal by 16 vertical picture elements. The blocks of 4 X16 picture elements thus obtained are further divided into two blocks of 4X8 picture elements in the vertical direction and the two blocks are arranged in the horizontal direction so as to form one block of 8X8 picture elements. Therefore, all picture elements can be blocked without increasing the number of effective picture elements even when the number of the effective picture elements is not a multiple of the number of picture elements of the blocks.</p> |
