<p>PURPOSE:To form a good image on a thick plastic card or a plastic card having uneveness or undulation on its surface and to prevent the deterioration of the image due to friction by once thermally transferring an image composed of an ink layer to a hot melt adhesive layer and subsequently thermally transferring the ink layer to the surface of a card along with the hot melt adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer 5 is heated by a thermal head 7 to be melted and the melted ink layer 5 is transferred to a hot melt adhesive layer 3. When this recording surface and a plastic card 9 are superposed one upon another to be inserted in the nip of a heating roller 10 and a pressure roller 11, the hot melt adhesive layer 3 and the ink layer 5 are melted by the heating roller 10 to be transferred to the surface of the plastic card 9. By removing paper 1, the plastic card 9 having a desired image formed to the surface thereof is obtained.</p> |
