CO-WOUND THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET

PURPOSE:To prevent the printing of a final page from becoming half-finished when a thermal transfer sheet runs short by providing an end mark to a thermal transfer film and/or a transfer material at the part near to a winding core. CONSTITUTION:A co-wound thermal transfer sheet is constituted by bonding a thermal transfer film A and a transfer material B in a releasable manner by an adhesive layer C and wound around a winding core 5 in a roll form and, when this sheet is unwound, an end mark 7 is provided to the sheet at a predetermined distance from the bonded part 6 of the sheet to the winding core 5. The end mark 7 is provided corresponding to the detection means arranged to a printer and the end mark detection means detects the presence of reflected light. When the co-wound thermal transfer sheet is wound so that the white transfer material becomes upside, the black end mark 7 is provided to the surface of the transfer material. When the detection light emitted from the floodlight projector of the detection means impinges against the black end mark, it is detected that the co-wound thermal transfer sheet is a terminal to prevent the printing of a final page not reaching one page due to a printer.
