Device for cutting into the surface of a product, particularly for scarifying bread products such as balls of dough, and characterised in that it includes, in combination: a) a plurality of cutting members (20, 21, 22, 23) connected to mechanical actuating means (14, 15), b) movement means (4) capable of bringing a plurality of dough balls in line with the said cutting members, then of discharging them after the said cutting members have been actuated, c) means (19, 17, 18) for mutually bringing the dough balls in position on the said movement means closer then further away with respect to the cutting members. <IMAGE>
