PURPOSE:To obtain a magenta dye which can be easily sublimed with heat applied in thermal transfer recording to develop a highly dense good hue, excels in light resistance and can stably exist on a substrate when transferred by selecting a specified magenta dye. CONSTITUTION:A magenta dye of the formula [wherein A is CH3, methoxy, alkylcarbonylamino or H; X<1> and X<2> are each H, halogen or nitro; R<1> and R<2> are each alkyl, OH-, halogen- or CN-substituted (alkoxy)alkyl or alkoxycarbonylalkyl; and R<3> is alkyl] is selected. |
