摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To realize interruption of field current without requiring field circuit breaker by a constitution wherein an AC power supply is provided with a field circuit breaker and a field main circuit is provided with a discharge resistor which is connected in parallel with a superconductor. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting a synchronous machine 1, an AC circuit breaker 11 is opened and a superconductor is superconducting thus establishing a bypath of a discharge resistor 9. When a DC power supply is connected to the output side of a thyristor rectifier 3 under this state, DC power is fed on the superconductor 10 to a field winding 2 thus performing initial excitation of the synchronous machine 1. When an AC circuit breaker 11 is thrown in after establishing the output voltage of the synchronous machine 1 through initial excitation thereof, a self-exciting circuit for feeding the thyristor rectifier 3 with AC power is formed. Consequently, exciting current to be fed to the field winding 2 can be controlled by performing phase control of the thyristor rectifier 3 through an automatic excitation controller 6 based on the difference between the output voltage of the synchronous machine 1 and a set value.</p>
