The subject of the invention is a device for connecting a fireplace equipped with a so-called "gas-log" device to the outside. The device for connecting, or for discharging fumes, to the outside, for an open hearth fireplace equipped with a so-called "gas-log" device is of the type consisting of two gas burner rails (5, 6), of burners, of a safety unit, of a control panel (7) which is accessible via a hatch (8), of a gas supply pipe (9) and of two coaxial tubes (10, 11), the central one (10) discharging the combustion products towards the outside, the other annular one (11) directly taking, from the outside, the air necessary for combustion, characterised in that the central conduit (10) is connected to the discharge duct of the hood (13). The annular conduit (11) descends vertically behind the heart (core) (14) of the hearth (15) in order to supply the "gas-log" device (2) with combustion air from the bottom. <IMAGE>
