Movable toy (1) with key control, moving in response to the rotation of a contact (ignition) key (2). The toy emits a starting-up noise and an engine noise. A key commutator (switch) mechanism, which has three positions (stop, run and start) excites a power unit which moves the toy when in the run condition. Excitation takes place in response to a movement of the contact key from the stop position to the starting-up position and to the run position. The power unit continues to operate when the key is in the run position, and a noise generating mechanism switches from a starting-up noise to an engine noise when the contact key passes to the run position. The toy moves in response to a lever (4) which determines whether the toy is to move or to remain stationary. <IMAGE>
