PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of weld defects and an effect to the working periphery by providing a cover to shield the vicinity of a weld zone, namely, the shielding jig on the turning type automatic welding machine itself. CONSTITUTION:A welding nozzle 52 to send out a welding wire toward a welded joint part W is fitted to a peripheral wall of a cylindrical cover 1a surrounding the welded joint part and this cylindrical cover is arranged on a turning pedestal 51. The turning pedestal is driven to turn and the cylindrical cover is turned integrally with the turning pedestal and when the welding wire is fed linking with the turning operation, automatic wedding can be continued. Since the welded joint part is surrounded by the above-mentioned cylindrical cover and shielding gas is supplied from the lower periphery, cutting off between the weld zone and the outside air is carried out surely and weld metal is protected and the occurrence of the weld defects is suppressed. In addition, since leakage to the outside of welding light is suppressed by the cover 1a, the influence to a peripheral operator is also prevented. |
