The demodulator uses the non-recursive cascade equaliser with a number of individual stages connected in series. Each stage (44) increases the phase rotation and the propagation time and reduces the reflection factor of the input signals (z(k)). Pref. the cascade equaliser comprises between five and seven equaliser stages which may each have a pair of parallel signal paths containing a shift register and a number of multipliers and adders.
