The duplex conveyor has two endless conveyor belts (12,14), at least one drive roller (74) and a drive device (62,64). The endless belts are mounted on a common support strip (18) and the drive device has a single drive shaft (72) for the drive roller (74) mounted at the two end sectionse (72',72"). One of the two drive shaft bearings (80) is removable from the drive shaft. The drive shaft can be mounted at one end on the drive device wherein the removable drive shaft bearing is mounted at the free end of the drive shaft. ADVANTAGE - The conveyor is freely accessible so that changing and tightening the belts is an easy operation.
