The rotor body (2) is rotatably located, displaced axially to the engine housing, and is provided with segments which are U-shaped and enclosed by sprung, wear-resistant U-shaped piston rings. Sealing of the segments in channels (5) is supported by pressure channels (10). In the chamber of the smallest volume between the segments, basic body (2) and housing (3) a flow channel is located in the air movement direction which allows compressed air from one or two adjoining compressors to flow into the combustion chamber. In the combustion chamber is an injection nozzle feeding fuel continuously, and which is so affected by the compressed air that a gas-air mixt. is produced, with combustion occurring in the expansion area, causing the engine system to be driven. USE/ADVANTAGE - For Otto or diesel engines, to convert combustion energy into rotary movement directly, to optimise compression of gas-air mixt. with combustion of the mixt. over a longer period, permitting better use of energy.
