MANUFACTURE OF GRAPHITE ELECTRODE

PURPOSE:To provide excellent properties of a battery on a secondary battery by carrying out undoping treatment for graphite interlayer compounds which are graphitized polymer into which an intercalant is intercalated. CONSTITUTION:Graphite interlayer compounds which are polymer compound- graphitized graphite into which a doner-type intercalant is intercalated is treated for undoping. In a secondary battery having the resulting graphite electrode 2 as an anode and a lithium electrode 3 as a cathode, the lithium ion in the cathode is intercalated into the interlayers of the graphite easily to form interlayer compounds at the time of electric discharging and the lithium ion intercalated into the interlayers of the graphite is released (undoped) easily at the time of electric charging. Consequently, excellent battery's properties are obtained.
