PURPOSE:To remove dusts efficiently depending on the temperature of dust- including gases, by providing a bypass duct for introducing said gases from a smoke introducing duct, bypassing a cooler, to a dust collector, and providing a damper which changes over the inlet for said gases depending on the temperature of said dust-including gases. CONSTITUTION:Dust-including gases from the dust source A is drawn by a blower 3 through a smoke introducing duct 4 to be fed to a cooler 3, where said gases are cooled and passed to a dust collector 1. In such a manner as stated above the dust collecting apparatus is formed. In said dust collecting apparatus, a bypass duct 7 which leads dust-including gases from the smoke introducing duct 4 to the dust collector 1, bypassing the cooler 3, is provided. A change-over damper 8 is provided in the bypass duct 7 so as to open and close said duct. When hot temperature dust-including gases are drawn, the bypass duct 7 is closed, whereas low temperature dust-including gases are drawn, the bypass duct is opened, so that dust collecting can be done with smaller pressure loss.
