Lateral chuck for machine tool work - has clamping member formed by sleeve with slot(s) and inner cone

The lateral clutch is fixed to the machine table etc. by a screw, which expands an internally conical clamping member carried in the chuck pt. to press work into the member clamping face in conjunction with a stop face on, or for, the chuck. The clamping is effected by a slotted (25,26) and internally conical sleeve (13), using the head (12) of the clamping screw to form the clamping cone. The sleeve is pref. made from spring steel. ADVANTAGE - Versatile applicability, and simple mfr. and handling.
