<p>PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by stopping a key scan device and a key scan processing program at the time of the non-operation mode of a time rate in which key input waiting is large. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic unit 20 has a mode selection means 21 selecting a first mode which corresponds in the middle of an operation and a second mode which corresponds in the middle of no-operation, sets the key scan device 40 in a scan stop state in the first mode and holds all scan lines in the same active level. At the second mode, the device 40 is held in the key scan state and the mode selection means 21 inverts a system to the second mode by a key-on signal from a detection device 50 and the system returns to the first mode by the operation termination signal of the arithmetic unit 20. Thus, the power consumption of a non-operation section is reduced and a miniature portable electronic unit in which the life of a battery is long can be obtained.</p> |
