PURPOSE:To make it possible to use even a detector which is easy to be affected by a magnetic field as a detector by converging charged particle beans on the periphery of a position on an extended line of a linear outlet from an injection inlet of a magnet and injecting into the magnet. CONSTITUTION:Charged particle beam is converged on an injection inlet of a magnet 4 and injected into an analytical magnetic field. In this case, the injection point A is positioned on the extended line of a linear magnet outlet 6. The charged particle beam injected into the analytical magnetic field is separated according to the mass in the analytical magnetic field and jetted out of the magnet outlet 6 and converged on a detector 5. Consequently, the converging curve is made linear and a flat detector becomes able to be used and the distance between the converging curve and the magnet outlet is made possible to set larger than that of a M-H-type mass spectrometer. As a result, a microchannel plate, etc., which is easy to be affected by ambient magnetic field becomes possible to be used as a detector. |
