PURPOSE:To automatically regulate to a contracting magnification optimum for the size of an electronic component and to effectively obtain an image adapted for recognizing its position at a high speed by calculating the magnification of the image based on the image of the component input to camera means by control means, and controlling a zoom mechanism based on the calculated magnification. CONSTITUTION:A video of an electronic component is input to a television camera 1, and an image processor 3 stores a size W' x L' with the size W'XL' of an image as a reference image. Then, when the component of an arbitrary size is sucked to a suction nozzle 6, its image is input to the camera 1. In the case of W'>=l' with respect to the image, the processor 3 automatically calculates a magnification of W'' = W', and transfers the magnification to a zoom lens controller 4. Thus, the controller 4 enlarges, so as to perform an automatic zooming of the lens, inputs it to the camera 1 and accurately recognizes the image of even the small-sized component. |
