发明名称 PASTE TYPE CADMIUM ELECTRODE FOR NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance discharge characteristics without impairing oxygen gas absorbing performance by forming the both surface sides of each cadmium electrode with a section which is covered with carbon powder and a section which is not covered with carbon powder. CONSTITUTION:Carbon paste is applied on the surfaces of each cadmium electrode by means of screen process printing so that both a section covered with carbon powder and a section covered with no carbon powder are thereby be formed. When charging is started, the lower layer of a carbon powder layer 3 is selectively charged in an early stage of charging, the inside of the carbon powder layer 3 is then charged as charging is processed, so that the whole surfaces of each cadmium electrode 4 is thereby charged. This thereby allows the whole surfaces of each cadmium electrode to be covered with metallic cadmium, oxygen gas absorbing performance is quite identical to that of an electrode the whole surfaces of which are covered with carbon powder. Meanwhile, alkali electrolyte solution is dispersed out of the section covered with no carbon powder so as to be supplied to the inside of each electrode, discharge characteristics are therefore quite identical to that of the cadmium electrode which is not covered with carbon powder. By this constitution, discharge characteristics can thereby be enhanced without impairing oxygen absorbing performance.
