PURPOSE:To improve the life of a battery and prevent the deterioration of an oil liquid due to heat by providing a solenoid a solenoid closing a valve body by moving a plunger against a spring means through electrification. CONSTITUTION:When a by-pass passage 13 is closed by a damping force switching signal based on detected signals from various sensors, since a valve body 34 is energized with a coil spring 39, force movable against the energized force is required, and large current is supplied to a solenoid 43 from an electric circuit 46. Then a plunger 42 moves to downwardly press the valve body 34 via a shaft 35 an auxiliary coil spring 41, and the valve body 34 is seated on a valve seat 32 to shut off the by-pass passage 13. When the plunger 42 moves to abut a supporting member 33, the plunger 42 is attracted to the supporting member 33 to keep the position of the plunger 42 by even small current, therefore current supplied form the electric circuit 46 is changed into weak current. |
