PURPOSE:To obtain a calibrating liquid for inspecting blood having an excellent shelf life and handling characteristic without using blood at all by mixing and dispersing blood cell pseudoparticles with and into an electrolyte contg. a surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:The blood cell pseudoparticles are molded to the fine particles of approximately the same size of the tangible components of the normal human blood by using a latex rubber material or the like and 1 or 2, more preferably 3 kinds of such fine particles of different sizes are compounded at approximately the same ratio as the human blood and are mixed and dispersed with and into the suitable electrolyte contg. the anionic surface active agent to prepare the calibrating liquid for inspecting blood. a low-concn. electrolyte such as physiological salt soln. or ammonium chloride is used as the electrolyte. The blood cell pseudoparticles have electric charge and are liable to agglutinate to each other when the blood cell pseudoparticles are mixed and dispersed with and into the electrolyte and therefore, the surface active agent is used in order to prevent the electrical agglutination of the blood cell pseudoparticles to each other.
