PURPOSE:To ensure that data is printed at a specified position on a printing sheet for a document and a printing format is easily set by providing a document preparation device capable of preparing a printing format consisting of a center position of document shown by position information from a storage device matched to a printing center position entered by an instruction device in relation to the movement of a position for a format for document in the storage device, when printing data on the document. CONSTITUTION:A carriage is moved to a position on a printer corresponding to the center of right/left margin positions based on information on the right/left margins of a registered document. Then input data through a keyboard 1 is read. If instructions for the movement of a carriage are given through a cursor key, the carriage can be moved across a specified distance on the printer. In addition, data on the position of the carriage is stored in an area 9A in work RAM 9. Therefore, each time the instructions for movement of the carriage are given, the protocol is repeated. If instructions for starting the printing process are given by a keyboard input device 1, a printing format is set by conversion of a line format for a registered document and data begins to be printed. |
