PURPOSE:To prevent thermal damage of a solid electrolyte fuel cell resulting from temperature change and heighten the gas sealing property of the cell by using such a fuel cell structure that gas sealing is not possibly required. CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte fuel cell has gas impermeable layers 20, 21, gas sealing portions 6A, 6B, a single cell 31, a rib-equipped porous base 7, an interconnector 12 and a rib-equipped porous base 11 and the single cell 31 is laminated to one main surface of the base 7 and the interconnector 12 is laminated to one main surface of the base 11 and the bases 7, 11 are laid one after the other and a fuel gas supply manifold 4 and an oxidizer gas supply manifold 5 are provided at the center portion thereof. The interconnector 12 separates oxidizer gas and fuel gas from each other by means of its consolidated layer and the gas sealing portions 6A, 6B each comprise an 0 ring made from silver and are disposed at the oxidizer gas supply manifold portion of the base 7 and the fuel gas manifold portion of the base 11, respectively. The gas impermeable layers 20, 21 each comprise an 0 ring and are interposed between the gas sealing portions and the rib-equipped porous bodies. |
